It seems that the time just keeps flying by. It's already November! I've been busy teaching classes here in Arizona, as well as getting paintings ready for the "season" at the Fountain Hills Artists Gallery. I've just started making some Christmas ornaments, and will hopefully be posting some on my dailypaintworks site soon. In the meantime, I just posted two 4 x 4" pepper paintings that I had done last summer, while we were traveling. A favorite collector just bought both of these. Thanks, Dianne.

Well, it's been a busy summer. We did a lot of traveling and I managed to do some painting. I painted an eagle as a donation for the Wounded Warriors. We had a reception at the Fountain Hills Artists Gallery on Sept. 5 with a silent auction for all the artwork donated by the gallery artists. This is my eagle.
I painted two small bird paintings that I took to the gallery, and they sold within the first week. I guess I'll have to paint more cardinals.
Then, I decided to do something that didn't involve birds. Here is the "Pear Parade", which is now for sale at the Fountain Hills Artists Gallery in Fountain Hills, AZ
We have a lot of fun events coming up at the gallery, plus our busy season starts in October, so I have to get busy so I have plenty of work to hang. I also have a class that I'll be teaching there on September 20, called "Wild Sunflowers" For more info or if you'd like to learn to paint this, call me at 623-972-2144.
I have so many things that I want to paint. There's just not enough time!! Better get busy! Ruth

Wow! I just can't believe how fast the time goes. I've been busy trying to finish some new paintings, some for the classroom and some for the gallery. I just finished this one last night and will take it to the gallery tomorrow.
It's oil on gallery wrapped canvas, 14 x 21, and will sell for $300. I also finished this one, which I will be teaching in Fountain Hills, AZ on July 20.
This one is 9 x 12" on gallery wrapped canvas. This will sell for $100, but I will keep it until after the class. My "practice" version is available on dailypaintworks.com for $35. This is on a regular canvas so would need a frame.
I'm packing my paints and getting ready to leave AZ for about 6 weeks. It was 105 degrees here yesterday so it's time to head for the mountains of UT. Hopefully, I'll have lots of time to paint while we're gone. Enjoy the summer, and I'll keep posting paintings on our travels.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have chosen to buy my art. I wish I had more time to paint, but it seems that life gets in the way. I recently taught an oil painting class in Las Vegas, went on a ski trip to Colorado with our daughters and their families, and am now in the middle of the desert near Ogilby, CA, in our motorhome while my husband and his friends are out racing around the sand dunes. At least I can paint while I'm here, so hope to have some new work to post soon.

Well, another resolution broken, sort of. I have not posted every week, but I have been painting more. I've been working on a series of small paintings, garlic, onion and tomato. The garlic and onion were posted last night, and the tomato is almost finished. I am also working on several larger ones for the gallery....one with five pears, and also a blue jay and a cardinal. I'll try to do better posting new work. We're in our motorhome right now, in Quartzsite, AZ and will head down to Yuma later this afternoon. I'll probably be without an internet connection for a few days, but I'll do my best.

The beginning of another new year with yet another resolution. This year, I will paint more. I say that every year, and there always seem to be so many other things that come first. I had a very successful Christmas season, selling lots of ornaments and two paintings. I'll try to post what I'm working on at least once a week.
